Lately I have been feeling and seeing the pain in the hearts and eyes of many of us as we struggle through our day and it is obvious we are not getting enough of what we need to bring us to the place we all seek.
"Life is a state of mind" I was once told and so I try to share what I have learned with anyone who asks of me to do so. To selfishly guard and covet that which can heal, strengthen and enlighten others to me is unacceptable so I try to love and share with all who can get past my seemingly unacceptable presence.
I never allow myself to be depressed for very long as it is to damaging to the human spirit to be negative, it literally kills us.
I feel very blessed when I take stock of all the wonderful people, places and events that have been part of my life and I realize that life is a balancing act. We all must experience equal amounts of pain and suffering for all the joyous and heart lifting events. I feel that all events and everyone that was hurtful to me in my life should be a measure of all the good I will enjoy if not already realized.
My friend, teacher, student and the only person to have ever truly loved me without reservation or condition gave me a wonderful gift of words on Fathers day that has afforded me a clearer view of why people are doing, saying and acting the way they do to myself and others and will comfort me through the negative times to come as I now have a better understanding of myself and others.
These are the words that were her gift to me and now I know I must always " BE KINDER THAN NECESSARY, FOR EVERYONE I MEET IS FIGHTING SOME KIND OF BATTLE"
Thank you Doctor Elizabeth Todhunter Georges for being my friend, teacher, student and my daughter. I am truly blessed.
