                   FDNY HAS LOST ANOTHER SON

They went down the stairs to fight the fire with Davidson as nozzleman, the fire was too heavy so they were forced to retreat and as they backed out, Davidson got separated from the rest of the unit. He was found unconscious on the floor and despite the best efforts of the FDNY and EMTs, they were unable to revive him.

The 37 year old, 15 year department veteran leaves behind his wife, Eileen, and four daughters.

He also has a brother, Eric, who is a city fireman in Engine 88. Their dad, Robert, is retired FDNY, also from Engine 69.

All who are of the Family of Firefighters mourn the loss of our Brother Michael R. Davidson who gave his life saving the lives of the citizens he served.

Although this type of tragic loss of life will occur no matter how well trained we are, it is my goal to attempt to train the next generation of Firemen to "work safe" as best as I can with our Firefighter prep-school which will be staffed by veteran Firemen both active duty and retired willing to give their time to share what they know.

Please all who read this, help by sharing our plea with others for funding and volunteers to teach via our online training sessions. We need you and all who see fit to give what you can in order to help reduce the LODD's that are ever growing in our service.

Thank you !

My condolences to his wife and family and his brothers and sisters of the FDNY, with so much training  and safety in place there is always something that goes terribly wrong. Please make sure you get home safe to your families and learn from these tragedies. Rest in Peace Firefighter Michael. R. Davidson
