Too often rural departments fail to institute a proper system of accountability for the whereabouts of their Firemen. This has often led to loss of every kind and is totally preventable.

All of the current technologies and advancements in PPE can not benefit a crew as much as knowing who was deployed, where and where they are in real time. This situation can be remedied with a simple radio system that is for the the sole use of each companies operators to stay in touch with the incident commander and each other separate from the "dispatchers channel".

This reduces confusion and traffic on the dispatch operator who may then communicate with the incident commander only with no waiting or "walked on" incidents when every second counts.
