This style Ahrens Fox engine was what I first saw as a boy and filled my heart with joy when I would see them going into action, even though it meant somebody was in trouble somewhere.

This is a 1927 Ahrens Fox pumper engine. It was able to deliver over 1,400 gallons of water per minute and shoot a stream over 40 stories high! That is over 400 feet in the air.

This machine was not only a "looker" but was a real work horse too.
